Cheers to 1 YEAR!

One year ago Matthew and I got married in the Salt Lake Temple, had our luncheon and reception at La Caille (had an open house in Logan a couple days before) and went on a week long honeymoon to Cancun! It was the best day and I will never forget how much love I felt for my friends, family and Matt. I wish I was better at this whole blog thing because we have had the best year full of so many different events! I think I might try to whip up a slideshow of just pictures from our first year... It's been so much fun living with my best friend and being able to get to know each other better and better everyday.
It was Matt's year to plan our anniversary and he so nicely planned a short weekend getaway to Saint George. We headed down Friday morning and came home Sunday evening.
Friday we checked into our hotel and made our way to the pool for an hour, we got ready and went to, my fave, the Pizza Factory! After dinner we went to the place where all your most wildest dreams come true... Fiesta Fun! After a couple hours of miniature golf and the batting cages we went for a nice drive around town.

Saturday we went for a little run in the morning, went to one of my other favorite restaurants in St. George, the Egg and I, for Lunch and then went to the pool for the next few hours. After we got ready and hit up some of the outlet stores and local shops. We ate some wonderful Hibachi Grill food at Samurai 21 for dinner... our chef was the funniest/cutest thing ever! We then drove around to some cool places and went for a nice little stroll. We ended the night with the wonderful Nielsen's Frozen Custard and a movie!

Sunday was our actual anniversary so we slept in, opened up some nice little cards and gifts from each other and went to breakfast! We took our time packing and laying by the pool. We stopped off at SmashBurger (which I loove) for an early dinner and made the trek back up to Logan! On our way we got to watch the Solar Eclipse take place... my eyes will never be the same..

Literally freshly squeezed orange juice!

Thank you Matt for our fun, relaxing anniversary getaway! Love you too much.

Mother's Day Weekend.

On Friday Matt's cute cousin Ashley got married in the Salt Lake temple and had her luncheon and reception at Noah's in Lindon. She looked so pretty and they looked very happy to be finally married!

Saturday all the boys went fishing again so my mom, sisters and I went to lunch, went and got some sugar cookies from Normandy Bakery, and walked around Sugar House Park.

Not sure what to say about this.

Later Matt and I went to our first Bee's Game of the season! It was a lot of fun and the weather was perfect!

For Mother's Day we went to church with my sister and her cute little family. We got to watch my niece sing in the Mother's Day program, give the opening prayer and scripture in primary... it was hilarious! Oh I just love her so much. We then made our way to Willow Creek for their Mother's Day brunch that was sooo good! I was very thankful for their Diet Coke on Sunday. We then got to talk to Matt's brother Tyler who is on a mission! It's always fun to hear his voice and to hear how he's doing. Just one more year left and we get to welcome him home!

Jess's pretty Peonies.

I am so thankful for my mom! There are so many reasons why I love her... she is always there if I need to talk, whether that be when I need cooking advice, grocery shopping advice, plant advice, marriage advice or just need someone to talk to I can always call her up. I love it when she gets really hyper because there is no telling what she'll do! She is one of the most genuinely kind people I know and I love that about her. I know I can speak for Matt as well when I say that his mom also is amazing and extremely caring and thoughtful. We are both so lucky to have wonderful mothers to look up to! Happy Mother's Day Diane and Carol!

Oh and I also CAN"T forget about my sister Jessica because if it wasn't for her I wouldn't have the sweetest niece and nephew that I do. I appreciate how good of a mom she is and how well she has raised her kids! I love her cute family so much and they are one of the reasons that I maybe, might consider having a family of my own one day... Love you Jess and Happy Mother's Day to you too!

Spring to Summer

Warm weather is here and we have been trying to take full advantage of it! Lately our life has consisted of working, hikes, BBQ's with friends, the Jazz, family, comedy shows, movies, food, Real Salt Lake, shopping, bike rides and a lot more.

This Saturday was a very productive Saturday for us. We woke up early to work on some things around the house, Matt painted our new (much needed) shelves in our closet and I finished up some crafts around the house. After, we headed to Center Street Grill for some lunch and then made our way up the canyon to a VERY pretty trail. Later we finished the night with a BBQ and the Jazz game with some friends.

Matt and I were lucky enough to go to the last game between the Jazz and the Suns to see if the Jazz would make it to the playoffs. The game was at a later time then usual so we stopped off at City Creek before to enjoy the nice weather and some Cheesecake! We had so much fun watching the Jazz make it into the playoffs!

Our main Usher performing at Half Time.
His performance get-up. Love him.

JAZZ WIN!!!
The next week I took a little trip down to Salt Lake to do some work and go to lunch and the mall with my sister and her kids! I can't get enough of Olivia and Jackson, I miss them so much! I cannot wait for baby #3 to come! I also can't get enough of these rice crispy treats...

Avalanche Bars.

That weekend Matt and I made our way down to Salt Lake to say goodbye to my little sister Anna who was going to Ecuador to help in the orphanage for almost 3 months! I am so excited for her to have that neat experience that not very many people will ever be able to have. Friday night we had to stop off at one of my favorite places for dinner... even tho it's their dessert I really love!

Toll House Cookie Pie..
Saturday was Cinco De Mayo and we celebrated with a Fiesta with my family and the Real Salt Lake soccer team.

Coconut & Red Velvet Fro-yo... delish.

We finished up the weekend with a nice Sunday dinner at Matt's parents house.
