Christmas Time.

        To start the Christmas weekend off Matt and I took a half day of work, packed up and headed down to Salt Lake. We met my family for dinner and a movie and afterwards made our traditional sugar cookies and listened to Christmas music. We woke up bright and early and ran a few errands. My dad insisted on taking Matt duck hunting so naturally Anna and I headed to the mall to see all of the Christmas Eve madness! It truly was madness... we didn't last very long and figured lunch would be best. The whole family came over around 5 to start the Christmas Eve festivities. This Christmas Eve..and most of our past Christmas Eve's.. consisted of our traditional dinner (delicious bread-sticks and sugar cookies included), a Christmas message, the exchanging of gifts, Christmas Jammers, wonderful gifts from my parents which, this year, included a trip to California that I cannot wait for! After all of the excitement Matt and I headed back to Logan to spend Christmas Day with the Weese family.

Christmas Eve

        Being our first Christmas married, Christmas morning was a little different then what we were both use to. We went to church, came home and opened stockings and our gifts to each other! Even though it was a little different it was one of the best Christmas mornings. It was so much fun to just be the two of us and really enjoy being together on Christmas for the first time. After our little Christmas we went over to spend the rest of the day with Matt's family. We ate their traditional Christmas breakfast, put on more lovely Christmas pajamas, anticipated Tyler's call from Texas, opened more presents and enjoyed every one's company. It really was so much fun to spend Christmas day with Matt's family, I am so lucky to have two wonderful families!

       After trying to teach Matt's parents how to use their new computer, we headed off to Tremonton to spend time with Matt's grandparents and extended family. We ate the best homemade soup and garlic bread and then opened up gifts and played signs... which was very entertaining.Christmas went by extremely fast but we enjoyed every minute of it!

        Not only was Utah State's football team nice enough to go to a bowl game for us, but Matt's dad was nice enough to get us tickets to the game! We all traveled to Boise Friday night and made it there in pretty good time thanks to Ryan and his car that only died once on us.. Saturday we did a little shopping at the Boise mall, hit up the pep rally (included with Idaho potatoes) and got to enjoy the smurf turf until about the fourth quarter that wasn't so enjoyable.. After the game we went to Matt's aunt and uncle's house for some dinner and a little around the world ping pong. I was a little under the weather so I didn't last very long, they should all have considered themselves lucky! The next morning we enjoyed a little continental breakfast and headed home.
        Matt and I love driving so much that we decided to continue the trek to Salt Lake to the Thain family Christmas party. I don't remember much about that drive so it was probably a good thing I let Matt drive. We had a lot of fun, ate a lot of food, and got some great white elephant gifts at the party, it was well worth the extra driving. Thanks to our families we had a really good weekend!

Happy Holidays!

      I love the holiday season! I love how crazy the stores are, all of the holiday baking, the excitement for Christmas and I love spending time with the family. Especially being away from my family makes it that much more enjoyable when we go down to visit. The other week I had to work in Ogden and I had one of my BF's baby showers.. shout out to KP... well KS! I figured I might as well take a half day off of work... seeing I was already in Salt Lake and all.. and spend Friday morning with my sister and her kids. Jess and I both love to shop and eat so it made this day so great! We started out at South Towne Mall waiting in line for Santa. We learned our lesson last year so we got there bright and early to beat the crowds. Haha it was so funny to watch Olivia ramble off her long list to Santa while Jack just sat on his lap in awe. So cute! Jess then introduced me to maybe the best pretzels ever! Seriously sooo good! We then went and did a little shopping at Fashion Place and got lunch at one of our favorite places, the Nordstrom Bistro. Sadly I had to end our shopping day and head back up to Logan to make some money to pay for the damage I had done. I am thinking I need to start my days out like that more often...

Oh loves of my life.

As of Late.

        It has been quite some time since I have written anything on here. I thought I was going to write some amazing post about Matt and I's 6 months of marriage and another amazing post about Thanksgiving.. but that didn't happen. So I will quickly update recent events.
        So yes 6 months of marriage have come and gone! It's been a wonderful 6 months with Matthew and I love his sweetness so much. Our 6 month anniversary landed on a Sunday so I decided to make Matt his favorite Sunday meal included with his favorite cookies... six months really has made me such a good wife, obviously. We figured it would be best to continue the celebration on to the next day and go out to eat... something Matt and I have learned to cherish and love. We ended the night searching for that perfect Christmas tree... but didn't have much luck. It's been a wonderful 6 months!
        For Thanksgiving this year we got to spend it with Matt's family up in Logan, which was very fun! It was filled with a lot of family and a lot of food. Like I said earlier we had kind of a difficult time finding a Christmas tree. I really wanted to put up all of our Christmas decorations right after Thanksgiving so we decided to go do a little Christmas tree hunting Thanksgiving night... see if we could get a jump start on Black Friday. Not only did we find the perfect tree but we got to end Thanksgiving night with decorating our house with Christmas decor!
        We decided it would be such a good idea to set our alarms for 6 am and go do some shopping... Matt and his brother really wanted to experience Black Friday first hand. 4 stores and 3 hours later we were back in bed and happy about our socks we purchased at 60% off... score!

        After a long nap we showered, got some lunch and headed down to the big city to meet up with my family for dinner and a movie, our Thanksgiving tradition. The boys decided to go hunting Saturday morning so I figured this would be a perfect time to get some of my Christmas shopping done. I luckily found everything I was looking for! We met up for dinner later at The Old Spaghetti Factory and ended the night with a movie. I loved this years Thanksgiving and was happy to have some new traditions along with some old!

      As much as I hate attention I loove my birthday. I was really excited for my birthday this year because it happened to fall on a Saturday which meant no work and I would get to spend the whole day with Matthew.
      We started out the day with lunch at Zupas with my sisters... Jess was so nice to buy me a dessert, I couldn't refuse the fondue with strawberries, bananas, marshmallows and mini brownies! Delish!

He was a little upset he wasn't invited to lunch.

      Matt and I then decided to go to Gateway, despite the miniature blizzard. We had a lot of fun shopping around and looking for cute decorations for our house. We then figured it was best to keep shopping... since we were in such a shopping spirit, and headed to Fashion Place. I love it when the mall is crazy and there are people everywhere, it reminds me of the holidays. So I of course had a wonderful time fighting my way through the new stores that just opened in the mall, pretty sure Matt loved it too.
     We ate dinner at my favorite place, Cheesecake factory. I was pretty nervous the wait was going to be way too long, good thing 80 minutes goes by fast when you have the mall right there to keep you occupied. It was a very fun and eventful day!

      Sunday my mom was nice enough to whip up one of my favorite meals and my favorite funfetti cake... sooo good. We spent the day hanging out with my family, opening up presents, and eating cake and ice cream! I couldn't have asked for a better birthday weekend!

Halloween Weekend

      When I think of Halloween I think of costumes and dance parties ... considering my wonderful husband isn't a big fan of dancing, I knew that was out of the question. So we decided it would be a fun idea to get some of our  friends together and go spend the weekend up at Bear Lake.
      We drove up Friday night and ate at Cafe Sabor with the Gish's and the soon to be Weese's and went and got settled in at the cabin. We tried watching a scary movie that night to get in the mood for Halloween, however, by the end of it Megan and I were the only ones awake so.. success!
      The rest of our friends decided to join us Saturday which was filled with eating, four wheeling, shooting guns... you know doing what girls do best...

      We ended the night with pizza, homemade fz'hookies and a movie.. Our Halloween weekend was very fun and very relaxing. It was nice to hang out with friends and just be able to lounge around. It was much different from our past Halloween weekends but it was a good change.

What happens in Vegas...

Every October all of the girls in my family get to go on a little thing we like to call a girls trip. This mostly consists of eating, shopping, eating, swimming, more eating and a lot more shopping! It is so nice to take a little break and spend some quality time with my mom and sisters, and what better place to do this then in the place where all your dreams come true... Las Vegas (and St George) of course.

Our trip started out with a nice traffic jam in Provo... word to the wise, never get on the freeway heading South at 5:00... good thing we had all of my mom's favorite old movies, including Harry and the Henderson's.. which I can't believe I actually watched as a child! We woke up early the next morning and headed to Vegas to do a little shopping. Amidst our shopping mall madness we took a lunch break at Serendipity. Jess and I decided to venture out and get a frozen hot white chocolate instead of our usual chocolate... best decision we have ever made! Between the 3 floors at H&M and the 3 floors at Nordstrom, Vegas was a success!

We spent the rest of the day going to our favorite lunch/breakfast place and trying to take advantage of the warm weather as much as possible!
